Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
Things to do in
Even if you're unable to view on a Sunday, there is some sort of display every 30 minutes
We're a veteran-owned business, we love any monument paying respect to those of the Services. While this spot does get a little busy during displays, the crowd is nothing compared to Buckingham Palace. Be respectful, but you should be able to get a good position to view or even catch a photo when the Evzones or Presidential Guard changes position or engages in drill ceremony.
The most spectacular displays of ceremony occur on Sundays, but there is a march performed every half-hour and a guard change every hour. Watch for the ceremonial dress and the unique style of legwork, involving a characteristic kick or sweep of the legs. If you're lucky, you'll see unique aspects of the inspection as the guard commander interacts with the Evzones. Just be respectful of their wishes, they should permit photos.
