Rainbow Falls

Things to do in

Your best chance of viewing a rainbow is in the early morning

Also known as Waiānuenue, the falls are relatively accessible from the city area of Hilo, Hawaii. Expect more likelihood of viewing an actual rainbow if visiting earlier in the day.

The falls don't represent a particularly high platform from which the water flows at only ~25m (80'). There is a short hiking trail nearby.

Getting there

By land

The falls are located within Hilo, roughly 3.2km (2 miles) west of the city centre. There is parking nearby, but it wouldn't hurt to make a small purchase from one of the shops to make use of certain parking spots.

By sea

Great proximity to the port at Hilo, an easy to reach attraction from cruise ships calling to Hilo.
