Disney's been working to build a safe means of enjoying their Orlando parks this summer. Set to reopen this weekend, starting with Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom on Saturday and (July 11) and EPCOT and Hollywood Studios from Wednesday next week (July 15). Guests can expect some increased opportunities to wash or at least sanitize their hands, alongside caps on admission figures and other social distancing measures. What that also meant until today was the restriction of new ticket purchases for the remainder of the 2020 season. Disney took the time to allow annual pass holders and guests of Disney resorts the time to declare their intended dates of visit before reviewing the new schedule of allotted dates and capacity. From later today (July 9) guests will be able to purchase new tickets for a visit during the 2020 season and then register their intended dates of arrival at a wholly new website set up for that very purpose: www.StartYourDisneyExperience.com Note that single day tickets don't appear to be available at this time and that you should check that your dates are available before purchase of a new ticket - then visit the above website for linking your reservation to the scheduled dates. Certain experiences have changed as a result of social distancing and hygiene measures during the 2020 season, you should ask questions about the most relevant experiences you'd like to enjoy during your upcoming visit to make sure you get the most from your trip!
I'll be honest, NBA basketball isn't my travel expertise nor writing forte! However, it's doubly exciting for both Disney Parks in Orlando and all you die-hard basketball fans out there! I've been hearing a rumor for a couple of months now that Disney's hotel resorts had been hosting professional sports players in preparation for something special - my notes showed MLB not NBA, that's the nature of rumors, isn't it? Both Disney and the National Basketball Association shared an official mini-release to announce the July return of NBA Basketball and the participation of 22 teams in conference to deliver an exciting finish to the interrupted 2019-2020 season! Taking place at ESPN Wide World of Sports, located at Disney Springs in Orlando, the path to the NBA Finals will be carried out and completed before the 13th of October! Here's ESPN's overview of the partnership with Disney from the outset
While restrictions around the US are being lifted and demand for domestic travel continues to climb, if you're planning an international trip later this year, you're going to need a valid passport to achieve it! When sharing recommendations with clientele here at Odyssean Travel, we always recommend visiting the travel.state.gov site to check the latest advisories; there is also entry/exit information pertaining to the validity of passports and the need for any visas or other documentation. As part of the professional experience, round up that validity period to 6-months post-trip. As in, your passport should remain valid for at least 6 months past the date you intend to return home. This is because airlines and other significant transportation elements can often have their own requirements. Critical to the success of your trip will be the receipt of your boarding pass and the carriage by airplane, no? However, during the disruption in effort to help prevent the spread of COVID, the Department of State had shuttered many of its offices and temporarily halted services, including passport renewals Today, the 11 offices of Arkansas, Buffalo, Chicago, Colorado, Connecticut, Detroit, Minneapolis, New Orleans, New York, Philadelphia, and the National Passport Center have entered their Phase 1 resumption of services activities. For now that still means limited staffing and that previously submitted applications will be the priority of service and they will be attended in order of receipt. But the notice also includes "life or death" emergencies (travel within 72 hours) will be factored and that in-person applications may be permitted with an appointment; If you're intending on visiting in person, kindly remember your face covering and the 6ft distancing measures you've been practicing these last few months!
