The Cu Chi Tunnels are likely the most sought-after attraction when it comes to military history and the Vietnam War. The preservation of a segment of the tunnel network here and other highlighted elements from the era of conflict really allows a first-person perspective into how challenging life might have been for everyone involved.
You will enjoy your time here if you have any connection to or interest in the Vietnam War, but even younger generations will appreciate the simple presentation of life during the conflict.
Planning your trip
If you are comfortable entering the tunnels, you won't likely regret the experience.
When you should go
The site is relatively busy throughout the day, possibly a little busier in the morning. Your visit will likely last about 2-3 hours and many tours offer either a morning or an afternoon experience. Perhaps plan based on your other activities on your day's itinerary.
What else you might need
Admission is best arranged in advance and with transportation. The site is technically within the bounds of Ho Chi Minh City, however you'll struggle to comfortably arrive here without a vehicle.
