Cruise and Travel News March 2022

A lot more good news for cruise & travel enthusiasts as 2022 springs forward and more borders open. The Eiffel Tower is officially taller, sold out National Parks trips, and a great sale is extended all the way to May!

Reduced restrictions and reimagined dreams of travel!

Some of Asia’s geographically smaller countries have big heart and big tasty culinary delights! They’re also making great strides to reduce friction to visiting, at least for vaccinated travelers from April First – that’s no April Fool.

Singapore

The shining star on the tip of the Malay Peninsula seeks to welcome vaccinated visitors from across the globe, most such travelers will be able to sidestep quarantine and PCR testing.

South Korea

Quite possibly the tastiest cuisine too many people have never heard of! It’ll be even easier to wrap your hands around a bowl of bibimbap from this weekend as vaccinated visitors can escape quarantine requirements here too.

Bali leads, Indonesia follows

A successful rollout across the bucket list island destination of Bali earlier in the year allowed authorities there time to review their process and to fully open Indonesia’s borders to vaccinated tourists.

This is great news for local tourism as the islands are disproportionately dependent on travel, while visitor numbers are around 10-15% of what they were pre-COVID.

If you were ever thinking about visiting Indonesia, 2022 may be the time to check if off that list before the million-plus monthly visitors return to soak up the breath-taking views for themselves.

There's a reason Bali was such a popular place before pandemic, it will be again soon. Don't miss your chance to beat the crowds back!

OK, New Zealand isn’t Asia but it’s REOPENINGGG

After more than two years of some of the most stringent quarantine and entry restrictions on the planet, New Zealand has just reduced the wait time to get in. Australian travelers will be welcome first, with a clear strategy to return to welcoming neighbors from across the sea next month in April. International visitors from the US can look forward to a Kiwi welcome from the first of May!

Quirky news, the Eiffel Tower is now taller

It was at one time the tallest building in the world, while it’s a long way from recapturing that title, the tower sprouted almost 20ft this month with the installation of a brand new DAB radio antenna.

Hard to tell from this angle... but it should look about 20ft taller now

Apparently the tower has had a number of such antenna swaps, taking the expert team just a few minutes to install the new one – lifted by helicopter, of course!

Group Trips nearing sold-out status

Five National Parks with trusted supplier partner Trafalgar Tours for fall of 2022 has sold out and closed for bookings, while Alaska cruises and Hawaii departures too are rapidly filling up for 2023.

You’ve still got time to explore available cabins to Hawaii, but don’t miss your chance to save with our group rates – or let us know when & where you’d like to go next with friends to see if we can’t put something BIG together, together!
