Cruise from Miami with Sunwing

Some of you may have noticed even back in August that Sunwing quietly inserted a few inclusive cruise departures to Miami. Bookable from a few Canadian cities, they're an interesting and welcome addition to their popular vacation packages for the rapidly approaching winter season.
That means you can have your return flights, transfers to the port, and a 7-night sailing in the Caribbean with famously fun Norwegian Cruise Lines or with our favorite cruise line right now, MSC Cruises.
Some small savings have been made in trading Miami International Airport for Fort Lauderdale International. This should also lead to a small savings in time when departing the airport.
What if you're not interested in cruising?
More encouraging still, Miami itself is being offered not simply as a staging point for embarkation, but as its own destination.

Vacation packages will apparently all include a car rental and the variety of hotels and resorts should be enough to keep both families with kids and couples smiling.
I'd only recommend that if you're not headed on a cruise, be sure to review your list of "must do" activities or "must see" landmarks. Some of the package-ready properties are located on the north side of Miami Beach but may be as far north as Hollywood and even Fort Lauderdale.
That said, the strip which includes Las Olas can be a happening place and the beach in Fort Lauderdale may at times be more white-sand-picturesque than those in South Beach. Arguably nicer still as the crowds aren't nearly as voluminous.
