While the spotlight shines on Dubai, I feel Abu Dhabi might have more to offer in terms of attractions. At least for families and those who might not want to shop till they drop.
First up, my favorite cultural landmark is the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. It's stunning. It is a working place of worship and much like St Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, there are some rules to follow in presenting one's self.
For example, I have too many tattoos for the entry team's liking so I was offered a garment to wear during my visit and shoes aren't really welcome.
Abu Dhabi is also the home of Ferrari World, not Dubai. The first time I visited in 2013 it was closed for renovations, thankfully I was able to return in early 2014 and got more than my fill of exotic cars and really, really fast roller coasters!!!
I've done a lot of research on Dubai and the United Arab Emirates. I agree that the spotlight is always on Dubai and especially on real estate investing but I don't know much about Abu Dhabi. Is it being modernized as much as Dubai? Is Abu Dhabi having the same renaissance?
