My own wedding day in St Lucia had a few showers during the morning of our ceremony.
Can you imagine waking up to something like this (below)?
About 8:00AM on our wedding day, Sandals St Lucia La Toc
Some cloud and grey might have seemed a little bit of a disaster if we weren't perhaps so happy to be celebrating that day.
It was also the first week of April and not inside the hurricane season. St Lucia tends to escape the worst of the weather anyway...
So, we just went on with our day.
While I returned to the same spot to photograph the blue skies coming in while my wife was off to her beauty appointments for the day!
How did we keep it so cool, like a pair of cucumbers???
Because we figured it would clear and the sun would burn off the worst of it.
Mimosa in hand, does this man look worried to you?
We went to a late breakfast at the top side of the resort, enjoying the views over the sea and the clearing blue skies!
By the time our late breakfast came around (brunch, let's be honest), the skies were looking great!
And it did dry out and clear off, we got the tiniest of sprinkles after the ceremony. Following the first dance in the garden and before we headed down to the water's edge for some photos. Just enough to bring us luck, I like to say!
Rain earlier in the day means dramatic sunsets when picture time rolls around!
While ultimately it was going to be a happy day for the two of us no matter what the weather would bring, we have the cloud and rain to thank for such a great backdrop for our photos.
