With its muggy summers and warm winters, beach and Everglades... you might not associate Florida with ice hockey, but there is an NHL hockey team out of Sunrise, a sort of suburb of Fort Lauderdale.
The Florida Panthers call the BB&T Center home and play as members of the Atlantic Division of Eastern Conference.
Just note that the journey up to Sunrise from Miami Beach can be upwards of two hours if you get stuck in traffic where the game falls on an evening. Plan accordingly!
