For some 2,000 years people have been enjoying the structures built around the natural hot springs rising up through the grounds here, with several iterations of Roman design and even a religious site including the Temple of Sulis Minerva to be found.
We'd highly recommend all visitors to Bath take the time to enjoy the museum and baths. Some significant investment has been delivered to maintain the building's intricate design, alongside enhancements to the museum and educational displays throughout the compound, making it an enjoyable experience for all ages and interests. Be aware that you can't actually enter the water at the Roman Baths, that sort of activity is reserved for the Bath Spa.
Planning your trip
You can now enjoy a glass of wine and sit by the waters as your Roman counterparts may have done so many years ago.
When you should go
Depending on what time of year you're visiting, there may be a late option for entry. During late spring and early summer, the sun doesn't set until quite late in England. That means escaping some of the crowds to enjoy access after 6pm while the site remains open until 9.
What else you might need
You might get the best experience by securing your tickets in advance, expect a premium rate or peak ticket during weekends and certain celebrations.
