Planning Your Trip
There is only one dedicated ship based in Hawaii, Norwegian's Pride of America. Other vessels must embark from the West Coast of North America or elsewhere around the Pacific. That can mean several days at sea, do plan well in those instances to stay entertained!
From filming locations to wildlife & hiking, there's an overwhelming variety of things to see and do among the islands. If you've time to visit Kauai, make sure you get on a helicopter or small plane to really enjoy the views. Likewise, sunrises and sunsets among beaches and secret coves or enjoyed from the peak of a crater in Haleakala... Hawaii also has world-class diving.
When You Should Go
As with many island destinations enjoying warmer climate, the choice of when to visit might best be suited to your personal needs and desires for your travel. Although typically a little cooler than some other months of the year, December through March can be busier, while also seeing a little more rain. A risk of hurricanes exist for the Hawaiian Islands from June through November. Some suggestions for the best weather and fewest crowds may fall in April or May, September or October. November might be the wettest month among the islands, you can expect a few more showers during some of the peak season months in fact. But do plan for several seasons if you're scaling any peaks or exploring the wilds of Kauai.
What Else You Might Need
As Hawaii is part of the United States, visitors holding a US passport may simply be limited by their day to day obligations, such as family life or work. Canadian passport holders may visit as tourists for up to 6 months, although considerable planning and documentation may be required to support a visit of such lengthy duration.
