Unveiled in 2014, the Head of Franz Kafka is a kinetic sculpture comprised of 42 moving sections. The piece stands more than 36 feet in height (11m). Funny, however, that the artist who designed the installation used to work in the building the sculpture now faces.
Even if you're not the world's biggest art enthusiast or a fan of Kafka himself, you may enjoy a quick visit to see the sculpture in action. Anyone who's ever been frustrated with their office work might also appreciate the cheeky nod to desk life intended by the artwork, too.
Planning your trip
You'll likely have to look for this landmark on your own unless you've joined a tour of Prague's New Town. The sculpture is roughly half way between the National Theater and the train station.
When you should go
You can typically visit at your leisure throughout the day, but you may find more visitors like yourself between about noon and 6pm or during special events.
