An elaborate link between two buildings of Oxford University's New College, the Hertford Bridge has also come to be known as "The Bridge of Sighs", not unlike that of Venice.
A fanciful escape from the ordinary for those of us stuck on the ground, it's a great little piece of architecture and features among plenty of locally guided tours.
Planning your trip
For many visitors, enjoying the bridge as part of a walking tour is sufficient.
When you should go
The bridge isn't overwhelmingly busy nor swarming with tourists, you'll still have the best chance for a great photo earlier in the day.
What else you might need
If you're enjoying the bridge from outside, it's very much in a public space. Tours of the colleges do however come with an entry fee.
